The CAVU Blood Biomarker Program

The goal of the CAVU program is to generate a clear and individualized picture of mixed neuropathologies that may be present during brain aging and disease using accessible blood biomarkers. The CAVU Program can discern common neuropathological features, including amyloidosis, tauopathy, synucleinopathy, white matter hyperintensities, small vessel disease (SVD) and neurodegeneration. Such a blood-based biomarker panel is scalable, non-invasive, and supports equitable medicine.

Initial funding for the Stanford CAVU Program is provided by the Phil & Penny Knight Initiative for Brain Resilience.
